News image

This is just a quick image I mashed together for one of the mags main news items. It was to support a piece about potential poker business acquisitions due to the recent turmoil caused by US legislation.

Twisted parenthood

Not long ago I got the book Loads More Lies to Tell Small Kids as a present. It's great fun, well drawn, with plenty of great insights into what its like to be a parent. I found myself immediately giving my sons slightly untrue answers to their persistent questions after reading this. They swallowed them up wholesale! The author Andy Riley gets top marks.

Super 5oup

I found this community of student artists on myspace and swiftly "added" them. The founders are people I've been aware of for a while and the project seemed like a pretty fine idea. Cloning Bambi

BenFrostisdead is a great collection of paintings by Ben Frost. His paintings feature a lot of cutesy icons in not-so-cuddly poses and situations. Anyone who can put Miffy in an image with a roaring tiger and a couple of whip wielding domanatrixes (sp?) whilst the whole scene is liberally sprinkled with rubber spiders has got my vote. What I'm voting for has yet to be decided, but it gets my vote anyway.

David Lanham

Cruising Drawn today I spotted David's work and had to nab the link pronto. I really like his style. Its cute and accomplished without being cheesy and sickly sweet. Anyway, I think I'll have to put him on my "To Use" pile for future reference. His site's design is excellent too. illustration
